The recent State of Facilities Management 2025 Report by SFG20, the industry standard for building maintenance specifications, found that over half (53%) of FM professionals rated digital transformation as a ‘highly important’ strategic priority for their organisation.
Digital transformation has become a core focus within the FM industry, as organisations seek to leverage technology to improve efficiency, reduce operational costs and enhance compliance. However, around a fifth of FM professionals cited integrations with existing systems as a particular pain point.
When FM systems are unable to integrate with SFG20 and content must be imported manually, it often results in out-of-date and incomplete data. Just over three-quarters of FM professionals surveyed (77%) reported compliance to be at least a moderate challenge, reflecting the ongoing issue of meeting complex regulatory requirements.
With changes to regulations and legislation being commonplace within the industry, ensuring work is being carried out to the latest standard is of utmost importance.
In response to these findings and the challenges Facilities Managers face, SFG20 has introduced its Digital Partner Programme. The programme has been created to support companies that have integrated their facilities management systems into SFG20’s software solution, Facilities-iQ. This new facilities management software solution allows users to create maintenance plans, tailor them to site-specific requirements, receive notifications when the standard is updated and then choose when to implement those updates. With this software integration, SFG20 content seamlessly flows into other FM systems such as CAFM, CMMS and IWMS for operational activity.
Paul Bullard, Product Director at SFG20, says:
“We are thrilled to have ConnectFSM join our Digital Partner Programme. SFG20’s new Digital Partner Programme includes a variety of exclusive benefits for its users. Our proprietary integration ensures that end users receive the latest version of SFG20 maintenance schedules, removing the risk of falling off the standard, which has been a challenge voiced by those working in the industry.
FM systems that belong to the Digital Partner Programme will gain a competitive advantage over those who continue to use manual processes to integrate content into their own systems on an irregular basis.
Joining the SFG20 Digital Partner Programme highlights a mark of confidence for ConnectFSM, proving to its clients that they are working with a cutting-edge ‘smart’ solution to support an up-to-date use of evolving industry standards, with flexibility and effectiveness.”
